A Personalized Wedding Bonbonniere

June 2, 2019

What wedding guest doesn’t like seeing their name in lights, written and engraved over all sorts of common household items like wine glasses, mugs and key rings.

The trend of personalizing every day items was even adopted by Coke, by including something as simple as a name on a Coke can, this phenomenon helped move those products like hotcakes off the supermarket shelves.

Now even Milo has followed suit with names on their tins.

So why not adopt the same concept on wedding bonbonnieres in the form of a cookie? Now, we’re not asking you to contact Tim Tams and ask them to start personalizing the chocolate topping with people’s names on them, oh no, we have a much simpler solution than that…our personalized iced cookies of cause!

Over the years we have done plenty of these personalized cookies in all sorts of shapes and sizes, from large gingerbread people to suitcases and love hearts (of course)!

The sky is the limit with the designs as literally all shapes are possible provided there is enough surface space to write your name or your guests names on them.

Not only are edible wedding favors a highly desirable gift to receive but with each one being personalized with your own names or the guests name it will surely impress everyone involved.

These goodies are affordable, versatile and can even double up for you as a place card holder at the reception.

Our standard sized personalized wedding cookies start from a pricing of $3.50 and they come individually wrapped and ready to be gifted to each of your guests.

Of course if you are looking for either small sizes or more lavish styles feel free to contact us for a quote and to brainstorm some ideas.

Until next time, stay curious and creative.

XOXO

Potters Wedding Exhibition

June 1, 2019

There has always been a nostalgic feeling when we think of the beautiful rustic Potters Wedding Venue, as our first order came from a Bride and Groom who were celebrating their special day at this reception.

Naturally when we were contacted by management that they will run a Wedding Exhibition in the venue, we said yes, not only do we get to visit this venue after it’s new refurbishment, it also offered us the opportunity to come test out some new designs.

These included making little gift packs for brides-to-be and grooms-to-be, to find a novel way to ask their future bridal party if they “Will be my bridesmaid?”  or “Will you be my groomsman?” cookie packs.

Additionally we got our floral on, we added a LOT of 3D floral pieces to many of our designs this year, learning our techniques from YouTube videos as usual.

We got to make our gingerbread bride and groom even cuter this year using our new cookie cutters from Macstencils. These custom make cutters mean our traditional gingerbread person was upgraded to a gigantic head and tiny body, nothing says more Kawaii than that.

So future wedding goers we hope your new range has inspired you to think of some quirky, cute and unforgettable ways to thank your guest for being part of your special day!

Until next time stay happy!

XOXO

A SUPER Wedding Idea

February 28, 2018

Wedding Cookie Ideas

Having cookies at weddings is not a new concept but when customers get creative with the design of their cookies for their special day, well things can get interesting. We will certainly consider any requests a customer may have, then we have a ponder, go straight to Pinterest or Google and have a search to get inspired and then maybe sketch something and come up with some solutions.

Customer’s Request

Recently we had a customer asking for a cookie which resembled a Polaroid with a portrait of the happy couple in it, so we though that’s a cute idea as we’ve done a similar design with a cartoon look to it. But there was a twist, she wanted them to be Superheroes. Um okay, I mean who doesn’t want to have Superheroes. So we asked the burning question – which two Superheroes?

The Outcome

The answer was… Batman for the groom and Wonder Woman for the Bride, a couple of designs were mocked up and here are the results!

Diamond Wedding Cookies

August 10, 2017

Diamonds are a girls’ best friend as they say, and if you were to give out diamonds to your guests as wedding favors then I’m sure you will gain a whole bunch of new best friends, but who are you?

Richie Rich?!

Are you making it rain with diamonds?! I should think NOT!

But here is the next best thing.

Diamond Cookies and if you have the time soon to be bride or grooms to make them yourself for your guests then here is our tutorial to show you how.

First, find a trusty recipe to make the base of the cookie. Either source a cookie cutter in the shape of a diamond or hand cut them.

In this situation we were making about a dozen so hand cutting them is easy enough. But if you need to make over a hundred I suggest sourcing a cutter for your own sanity. However, if this is for a small batch then get yourself on Google image, type in “Diamond Silhouette” and ta-da, a breath of diamond shapes to choose from!

Print it out and take a piece of baking paper and trace over it, cut it out and you’ve got your stencil.

Now onto the fun part, the actually decorating of the cookie.

Instructions

  1. Using a Wilton 2 nozzle and thick icing outline the diamond shaped cookie.
  2. Then flood the cookie , leave that cookie for a few hours to completely dry (in colder weather you might need to leave this overnight to make it dries completely).
  3. Next comes the detailing which might require a few practice goes if you don’t feel too confident, especially with piping straight lines. Use the thick icing again as you did for the outline and create a border of the cookie shape, then add your diamond detail.
  4. Leave that to dry for few hours and there you go! You are done, package them as you wish and delight your guests with this edible gift.

Gingerbread Corner Weddings

March 19, 2015

It’s not a surprise that weddings have been our most customized range.

The designs have been based on peoples theme, style and personality and it’s been such a fun ride for us because we get to experiment with different cookie cutters, colors, decorating techniques and packaging.

As the years have gone by with the continuous practice and orders, I think our wedding range has really improved. What do you think?

We started off with designs like this:

nametag

As well as these:

tuxdress

Wow, those are slightly cringe-worthy, aren’t they? It also looks like we weren’t so great with taking photos!

But luckily with most things, as time goes by it does get better because we are constantly learning from our experiences and from our mistakes as well as learning completely new things.

Now our designs (as well as our photos) look like this:

mini hearts

dress tux pink

hearts tux

placemats

hearts dress

bitten bride groom
